Scar Correction
The treatment of scars is divided into two parts. The first part is about the prevention after surgery and the second is the correction of hypertrophic and keloids scars.
SCARS PREVENTION
After the primary stage of treatment, patients are taken instructions for scar care in order to avoid hypertrophic scars and keloids. In this case, the regular use of special ointments for scars as well as the use of silicone patches is essential. If the redness and the wound of a scar continue for weeks, it could be the use of others techniques, such as the use of injectable corticosteroids in the scar and the treatment of pressure by means of elastic clothing. These treatments have a duration that depends on the healing process.
CORRECTION OF HYPERTROPHIC AND KELOID SCARS
A scar can never be completely removed, but it can be greatly improved. In simple cases, the last cut and suture of the wound are sufficient. However, usually, it is necessary to apply specific suturing techniques as well as tissue / skin transplantation.
